When you think of the word “meditation”, what comes to mind? Do you think of monks or other religions? Or do you think of the words of God as He gently whispers to us saying, “be still and know” (Psalm 46:10).
Did you know that the science world has shown that meditation improves overall wellness; reduces stress, pain, or insomnia; and helps one deal with the emotional strain of chronic illness such as heart disease and cancer. It can also help with depression, anxiety, panic disorder, and even some neurodegenerative diseases.
But God, in His Word, also calls us to meditation and healing as well!
“Now I can say to myself and to all, ‘Relax and rest, be confident and serene, for the Lord rewards fully those who simply trust in him.'” Psalm 116:7 (TPT)
What is Christian meditation? It’s a practice of being still, connecting with your heart and body, and looking at Jesus.
We are transformed as we look and see what Jesus is doing (2 Cor. 3:18)
